Liberal Democrat county councillors have expressed their concern after it was revealed that Surrey County Council has not spent any of the income derived from its £298 million commercial property portfolio on council services. Previously, the Conservative Cabinet Member for Property & Business Services stated that: "We also have an additional need to generate an income from our strategy if we are to have any hope of raising enough money to fund the services our residents need."

The Windrush scandal has exposed the brutality of the Home Office and the Conservatives more clearly than a multitude of other immigration and asylum scandals.

The reason?

The Windrush Generation are British citizens. People who've lived here for decades - working, raising families, part of Britain.

Even the Daily Mail has been forced to back their case.

During a Woking Borough Council's planning meeting, on 20th March, Lib Dem Councillor Louise Morales voted against the removal of aTree Preservation Order (TPO) on a 100+ year-old Sweet Chestnut Tree in the grounds of St John's Primary School, Knaphill, Woking. However, all three Tory Councillors for Knaphill, plus the Tory Councillor for Goldsworth Park voted for the removal of the TPO. The removal of the order now means that the school is free to destroy the tree.

1. Working to end homelessness being criminalised.

Vagrancy isn't a word we often use in the 21st Century. That's why the law that makes homelessness a crime dates back to the 19th century. Layla Moran MP, our excellent MP for Oxford West and Abingdon has brought forward a bill to repeal this draconian law and stop people being arrested just for not having a roof over their head.

Boris Johnson has made a bizarre appearance on the Today programme where he showed flagrant disregard for history and international affairs by comparing the Northern Ireland border with the Congestion Charge.

Once again the Foreign Secretary has shown why he shouldn't be allowed out of the house to talk about foreign affairs.

He has revealed a complete lack of understanding of the complexities and history of the Northern Irish border. It is one of the major outstanding issues of Brexit negotiations and one of our most senior Cabinet Ministers hasn't even bothered to read his briefing notes.

Woking is part of a Voter ID pilot project being run by the Cabinet office for the elections on May 3rd.

In addition to being on the Electoral Roll (register here!), voters will be required to bring a form of photographic ID to the polling station.
