James Sanderson grew up in Woking and has lived here for most of his life. James is married to Alison and they have four children who attend Goldsworth Primary School.James is a qualified chartered accountant and works at a financial services company.

James has had previous experience as a local councillor for a London Borough and has also served as a primary school governor, treasurer of a bereavement and homeless charity and also as a director of a housing association.

James is passionate about ensuring that local residents have their say about the proposed town centre developments plus other developments in the Goldsworth area. If electedJames will strive to ensure that Council plans are sustainable and financially viable as well as improving the local environment, and road safety and ensuring that housing tenants get a fair deal.

James Sanderson wants to stick up for local residents and was against the Tory Borough Council's recent rise in Council Tax and parking charges.

James said, "The Government offered a grant so that the Council would not have to increase Council Tax, the Tories chose to ignore this. Residents are already facing an increase in the cost of living, it is so unfair to hit them with an unnecessary rise in Council Tax."

He commented, "I am delighted to be selected as your Liberal Democrat Councillor in Goldsworth East. For me, being a Councillor is about putting something back into my local community. I am proud to be a Woking Lib Dem but prouder still to be fighting to make our area and our community stronger and more prosperous."
