Ellen's Core Aims
To use her Health Service expertise to look at creative solutions in how GP surgeries provide better services closer to home and work with the Woking Walk-in Centre for all our future health care needs.
To end Surrey County Council's neglect and refusal to listen to residents about repairing our crumbling infrastructure and health services. She will stand up for our local communities.
A 'Green New Deal' - Take climate change seriously. Engage local residents and businesses to drive County Hall to drastically reduce CO2 emissions and target carbon neutrality.
Ellen has lived in Woking for many years. She is determined to play her part in shaping local politics.
Professionally she is a Registered Nurse (RN). After many years of direct patient care she now works strategically within the NHS using her expertise of primary care to focus nationally on patient safety and helping her colleagues. Previous roles include lecturing, a focus on education, primary care workforce development and healthcare. Also, as a member of her local surgery patient participation group, she uses her nursing expertise to help others.
Ellen is Chair of the LibDem HQ's Health Resource Group. This group works closely with our MPs on health and social care issues and supports LibDem health spokesperson Munira Wilson MP.
She is married with three adult children. In her spare time she enjoys photography, hill walking, travel and writing, as well as spending time with her family and friends.
