Deborah Hughes: Your strong local voice for Hoe Valley

Deborah Hughes had been a Councillor for Hoe Valley, covering Kingfield, Old Woking and Westfield, since May 2016. She has lived in Westfield for over a decade, during which time her daughters attended Woking College.

Soon after moving to Woking, Deborah became a committee member of the Westfield (Hoe Valley) Residents Association and for many years was their secretary. She is also a school governor at Westfield Primary School.

Deborah works in the NHS for Surrey Heartlands Health and Care Partnership, on projects particularly related to prevention and mental health.

Naturally due to her health background Deborah is particularly interested in the health and wellbeing of residents, and is the Council's dementia champion. She also works on the Health and Wellbeing Forum, the Community Safety Task Group and the Early Help Committee.
