Lib Dems secure agreement to promote greener travel

Lib Dems on Woking Council last week secured agreement to look at incentives for those driving the most environment friendly vehicles.

"With new flexible pricing systems coming to town centre car parks it is an ideal opportunity to encourage use of less polluting vehicles" said Lib Dem Leader Ann-Marie Barker.

Lib Dems initially introduced lower pricing on season tickets for cars according to their CO2 emissions. We also promoted the installation of electric charging points in car parks.

"This is another step to encourage less polluting behaviour and to move towards our climate emergency targets" pointed out Cllr Barker.
