Commenting, Co-Chair of the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Party Committee on Education, Dan Rogerson said:
"The Pupil Premium has been a tremendous success for children from disadvantaged backgrounds. This year alone, we are investing £1.25bn in supporting those children who need a bit of extra support to help them keep up with their more well-off peers.
"We need to go further and faster in ensuring our schools deliver the best education for our children. It means expanding the Pupil Premium to cover all children from early years education onwards and supporting children with special educational needs.
"Liberal Democrats want to do the right thing for our young people's career prospects. Tailored careers advice and encouraging schools to build relationships with former pupils and businesses are crucial to build aspiration for children. A vital element to give our children the skills they need for a lifetime of successful work is creating valued vocational training to support those who do not want to pursue academic education."
