Woking Liberal Democrats"Ofcom should be praised for consigning Labour's site blocking laws to the bin.
"Site blocking may sometimes be necessary, but that doesn't excuse the Digital Economy Act's sorry attempt to enable it.
"Internet providers and rights-holders must now devise a simple solution. Those offending on a massive scale should be stopped without threatening every website under the sun."
Commenting further on the announcement by Liberal Democrat Business Secretary, Vince Cable, of the Government's intellectual property plans, Don Foster added:
"If the creative industries are to achieve their potential and play a major role in the UK recovery, it is vital that creator's rights - and especially their intellectual property rights - are properly protected. At the same time, consumers deserve easier access to high quality content.
"Vince Cable's plans will help achieve both. They will help further develop the UK as a world leader in the creative industries."
