Anne Roberts - Eight years of service for Byfleet and still going strong!Anne has served as a Borough Councillor for Byfleet since 2004. . She hails from the West Country but after travelling the world, made Byfleet her home in 1974. Anne has lived in Canada, New Zealand, Australia and South Africa, has worked as a holiday representative in Europe and speaks three continental languages. She managed a travel agency in Woking for 20 years and more recently assists part time as a travel consultant in Egham.
As a Borough Councillor, Anne is deeply involved with the community, working to help families, the young and the elderly on a large number of issues. She is a volunteer at Byfleet library and is fully supportive that it should be kept open. Passionately keen on the environment, Anne has been on the Planning Committee for 8 years, working hard to ensure that new buildings in Byfleet such as Barnes Wallis Court and Laurel Grange are in keeping with the village. Anne is a Trustee of the Village Hall - one of our greatest community assets. She co-founded Byfleet Amenities Group in 2004,to address problems of cleanliness in the village. The group has erected a new community notice board in conjunction with the Residents' Association and puts up lights on Plough Green during the winter festive season.
