LABOUR PARLIAMENTARY CANDIDATE GIVES UP ON WOKING

Woking Liberal Democrats were not too surprised to learn that Labour's prospective parliamentary candidate has given up on Woking. She is one of eight candidates who have applied to stand for the safe Labour seat of Erith and Thamesmead. The hustings and selection in Erith and Thamesmead made national headlines when Saturday's Labour hustings and selection was postponed because it was discovered that one of the ballot boxes had been tampered with.

Responding to this, Lib Dem Parliamentary spokesman, Rosie Sharpley, said:

"It is very clear that the Labour has given up on Woking. Even their prospective parliamentary candidate knows she cannot ever win Woking. She was appointed nearly two years ago to represent Labour in Woking but very little of her has been seen in Woking. This says a lot about her lack of commitment to Woking."
